Special Interest Group Meetings

 

DACS includes a dozen different special interest groups which meet monthly. These explore a variety of topics from Microsoft Access, financial software, and the Internet to graphics, operating systems and Visual Basic programming.

Access

Design and implementation of solutions using Microsoft Access database management.

Advanced Operating Systems

Explores the use, configuration and problems relating to the Linux, BSD, Windows 2000/XP/ 2003, OS/2 and Mac OS-X Operating Systems.

Digital Imaging

Discusses digital cameras, retouching and printing using various programs.

Networking and discussion of the jobs search environment.

Linux

Helps in installing and maintaining the Linux operating system. May also be of interest to Apple owners using OS X.

Macintosh

Discusses all things Macintosh

Microcontroller

Discusses the basics of all microcontrollers and their support circuitry. We’ll cover most of the popular micros including the AVR (Atmel), PIC (MicroChip), The Stamp Series, and products from Motorola and Texas Instruments among others.

Open Source Web Programming

The open source Web programming SIG focuses on application programming centered around open source tools for Windows and Linux including PHP, MySQL, Apache, Web Matrix, sourceforge.net projects & anything else FREE, easy and cool an application developer can use. You could also call it call it WLAMP application development.

PC Maintainance

Reviews PC hardware and Operating system maintenance and use.

Server & Networking

The Sever SIG covers server-based application development and the attendant infrastructure. Meetings regularly discuss Windows 2000 Server and Microsoft networking, SQL Server and web-based application development. The VB SIG discusses application development using Visual Basic. This ranges
