BEGINNERS AND EXPERTS alike will appreciate the power and capabilities of two products to be demonstrated at the next DACS meeting on October 5 at the Danbury Hospital Auditorium. MGI Software will present PhotoSuite III & VideoWave II.

PhotoSuite III has many capabilities. Among them is the feature that enables photographers to create their own panoramic images by stitching together up to five photos. With the resources of Photo Tapestry you can automatically create one final, amazing composite picture. The software comes with two CDs containing more than 1,200 templates, 400 props, and dozens of fonts. Crop, cut, clone, collage, use special effects and editing possibilities endlessly. Capture photos with your scanner, digital camera, CD, or from the Internet.

An added advantage of PhotoSuite III is that there is no more hassle organizing and storing your pictures. It provides you with the practical electronic albums in addition to powerful keyword search capabilities. You can also display your photos in customized albums or multimedia slide shows, complete with transitions, sound effects, voiceovers, and music. With PhotoSuite you can use your photos on business cards, stationary, newsletters, and in other business-related material. Your pictures will always look great since the product allows you to repair and restore your most treasured photos and to remove red eye, wrinkles, blemishes, and more. The intuitive interface and helpful navigational guides make it easy for the novice, while powerful toolbars are a convenience to experienced users.

VideoWave has all the elements that film professionals need but that beginners will enjoy such as text animation, special effects, video animation, transitions effects, darkroom, audio mixing, and file support. VideoWave comes with an interactive tour that walks you through every feature found in MGI VideoWave II and guides you through the production process from start to finish. The MGI multimedia library comes with everything you need to get started in PC video production, including full screen digital animations, videos, music, sound effects, photos, cartoons, borders, textures and more.

DACS is the Greater Danbury Area computer club. General meetings take place the first Tuesday of each month at the Danbury Hospital auditorium, 24 Hospital Avenue, and are open to the public. Meetings begin at 6:30 p.m. with casual networking. At 7 p.m. members can ask their most pressing computer questions during Random Access. The featured presentation starts at 8 p.m.

DACS members include beginner, intermediate and expert users. Special Interest Groups (SIGs) covering specific computer topics from Web page building to Windows and Macintosh meet throughout the month.
